Our Services

Custom quilting is by appointment only and must be scheduled in advance. Please call or email to schedule a time and place to meet.

Batting:

We offer several manufacturer brand battings:

• Warm and Natural 100% cotton in natural or white.
• Hobbs 80% poly 20% cotton in natural of black.
  Also 108' wide in white
• Hobbs 100% cotton with scrim in white.
• Hobbs 100% cotton extra light in white.
• Dream Cotton 100% cotton in natural or white

All competitively priced from $8 to $10 a yard.

Binding Services:

We are happy to do the finishing touch by binding your quilt for you. We will cut, fold, and press. We do both straight and bias binding: cut at 2 1/2 inches, folded and then pressed in half. The binding is attached to the front of the quilt by machine, they wrapped to the back and sewn down by hand whipping giving your quilt the final “finishing touch”.

Your binding options are listed below:

• Full Binding hand whipped - you supply the fabric and we will make, attach, and hand whip down the binding. ($0.25 per linear inch)
• Make and attach - You supply the fabric and we will make and attach binding so you can whip down yourself. ($0.15 per linear inch)
• Attach Only - You provide the binding and we will attach it for you so you can whip down yourself. ($0.10 per linear inch)

Proper Quilt Preparation:

This saves us time and you money. By following the preparation steps below, you can avoid time delays and “add-on charges”

1. Press your quilt top and backing thoroughly
2. Please safety pin the top of both the quilt and backing fabric
3. If you pre-wash you fabrics, it is best to pre-wash all of them
4. Clip all loose threads from back and front of quilt top
5. Square up backing fabric, or we will have to charge you to do it
6. Your backing and batting must be a minimum of 3 inches larger than your quilt top on all four sides
7. Do not baste, pin, or tack your quilt together. Just fold each piece.
8. When seaming your backing, be sure to remove all salvages.
9. Be aware that fullness and puckers, which have been pieced in, cannot be quilted out

Border Tips:

• Avoid handling your quilt by the borders once they have been attached. This can stretch them and cause them to become loose and wavy.
• Straight borders cut from the length of the grain (parallel to the salvage) lay much flatter than those cut cross-grained
• Please note quilts are NOT trimmed unless otherwise requested. All left over batting and backing material will be returned with the quilt.
